Go to the shopOur name is inspired by our practice. Playa, our beaches are functioning as dynamic ecosystems and provide habitat for numerous species of plants and animals. Every time a wave crashes against the beach, it brings new resources to support this community of life.
Plastic in the ocean gets broken into bits all the time, and they become tinier pieces. No net or filter will be pointless to get our waste and keep these animals from eating them. That is why most of our products are made from recycled plastic bottle caps that may have otherwise ended up in landfills and oceans.

Playa Rug's journey represents an exploration of creativity and sustainability. As a national gymnast juggling long hours and a hectic travel schedule, creating this brand was a new beginning of Zulal Sapoglu, the owner, career. As a young women entrepreneur who always wanted to be an interior designer, combining her passion with her vision helped her to launch this brand a year ago. Since then, Playa Rug began with a vision to create and share functional, long-lasting recycled plastic home decor furniture with sustainability and design in mind.
We are a company that wants to see our customers out in the world: exploring, connecting, working, and discovering. And while we obsess over the design and functionality of our products, we are equally concerned with our larger impact as a business. For us, it is not enough to “do no harm” when it comes to environmental impact. We are part of a growing movement that believes businesses can actually lead the way in reversing environmental damage and creating innovative solutions. We are always seeking ways to improve our supply chain and the lifecycle of our products.
